Welcome to St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju

At St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju, we believe that education must do more than prepare students for the next step. It must prepare them to shape the future.

As a PreK–12 day and boarding school on the island of Jeju, South Korea, St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, one of only two schools in Korea with this distinction, and by the Korean Ministry of Education, a distinction held by only seven schools in the country. As part of the St. Johnsbury Academy tradition, we draw upon 184 years of excellence in education and character development. Inspired by this legacy, we are committed to shaping the future of learning for the students we serve today.

Our guiding principles of Character, Inquiry, and Community are not simply words. They are commitments that shape every aspect of the student experience. We are intentional in developing not only strong scholars, but also thoughtful, ethical, and engaged individuals who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

At St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju, learning is an active and purposeful process. Through inquiry-driven experiences, students are challenged to ask questions, explore ideas, and solve authentic problems. This work culminates in our Capstone Intensive Learning Model in grades 5, 8, and 12, where students bring together knowledge, creativity, and purpose to demonstrate both what they have learned and who they are becoming.

We believe that learning is most powerful when students feel known, supported, and challenged. From PreK through Grade 12, we are committed to helping each student discover their strengths, pursue their passions, and develop the confidence to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world.

We also believe that education is strongest when it is built on partnership. Our work with families is essential, and we are committed to building a school community where parents are engaged, informed, and connected as partners in their child’s learning journey.

As Head of School, I am guided by a simple but powerful belief. Every student has the capacity to succeed, and it is our responsibility to create the conditions that make that success possible. St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju is a school with a clear purpose. We are preparing students not only for university, but for lives of meaning, leadership, and impact.
