Director of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Message

Welcome to St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju!

Founded in 2017 St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju draws upon the 180-year tradition of our home school in Vermont. Our academic program is developed around three promises; We will do our best to help each student become the best learner possible, the best person possible, and be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Our mission and values of Character, Inquiry, and Community are cornerstones of our educational program. We believe in the potential of all students and are committed to uncovering their strengths and passions as they prepare to become stewards of the 21st century.

With a focus on inquiry-based learning, our educational program provides a holistic student-centered approach in which we prepare students with skills to be successful global citizens. We believe in an authentic, hands-on approach to education in which students are active participants and demonstrate their learning through real-world problems. Inspired by our home school’s Capstone Project, SJA Jeju students progress through a series of Capstone Projects or “expertise markers”. This unified network of projects takes place at the conclusion of each level of our program (Elementary, Middle, and High School) and represents the culmination of learning within each of those levels. This learning model encourages students to ask questions and find unique solutions to modern problems.

We encourage you to explore our website and get to know our academic program further. Please do not hesitate to contact us or visit our beautiful campus to experience all that St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju has to offer!
