The Elementary School Library

St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju's Elementary Library is a vibrant and active community space used for reading, research, collaboration and exploration. We encourage this philosophy through a variety of activities, programs and resources. We have two designated teaching areas with an interactive projector and a SMART television, as well as a station of Apple desktops for student use. We advocate critical thinking through the teaching of research skills from Pre-K through 5th grade. We nourish the love of reading by providing a warm and welcoming environment as well as an assortment of books, ebooks, and audiobooks. We celebrate the literacy of second language learners by providing books in English, Korean and Chinese. Students come to the library weekly to check out books. Students in 1st through 5th can check out up to 10 books at one time. The library works on a flexible schedule to allow for projects and planning that integrate with the classroom curriculum.

The Secondary Library

The SJA Jeju's Secondary Library is a friendly academic space. Our team works hard to create an environment that is welcoming and supportive for all students needs. We have six meeting rooms to facilitate group study sessions, small presentations and meetings. These are regularly used by both students and staff. These are collaborative spaces that allow people to have discussions, watch presentations and map out ideas on the whiteboards.

We have several different spaces throughout the library to accommodate whatever visitors are in the mood for. There is a comfortable couch area near the newspapaer and magazine racks for light reading, two large study spaces primarily used for study hall students, a quiet study area at our distraction-free tables and an island with stools for those who want a different type of seating to work on.

In addition to resources, our library provides English and Korean academic support to both teachers and students. Students are always welcome to come and ask for help with assignments. We are experts at researching topics, answering spelling and grammar questions, finding reliable sources and then correctly referencing the resources used.
