On Friday, October 25^th, SJA Jeju celebrated Halloween with a day of costumes, trick-or-treating, games, and fun throughout the school.

In the morning, the celebration began with our Early Childhood and Elementary School students who transformed into the cutest monsters, princesses, superheroes and more for the Halloween parades. Students in the parade were initially greeted by their peers who lined the hallways of the Elementary School. Outside of the building, parents waited with great anticipation and then clapped and cheered loudly as each class had a turn parading proudly past them. Mr. Carmichael, 5^th grade homeroom teacher, said "It was an exciting first ES Halloween parade for SJA Jeju and we hope to continue the tradition in years to come."

In Middle School classrooms, students were divided into groups and given various engineering challenges - all with a spooky twist. The challenges included the 'Zombie Stretchers' where students had to build a stretcher using newspaper, tape and string that could carry an 8kg zombie friend to safety through an obstacle course as well as 'Creature Catchers' where students had to build a trap for creepy crawly bugs using some unusual materials.

In the afternoon, Middle School STUCO (Student Council) organized a fall carnival with 15 game booths and a free snack booth where students played carnival games to win tickets and then used their tickets to buy snacks.

High School STUCO (Student Council) also organized special Halloween events which included a costume contest during morning assembly. The student costume contest was judged by the art department and the principal, and the teacher costume contest was judged by student applause. The student winners were Korean zombies which were a group depicting students in traditional festival dress with zombified faces. The teacher winner was a team effort of a hiker and her shadow.

Fun Halloween activities continued until the evening in the SJA Jeju dormitory with trick-or-treating, Halloween games, and face painting. It was great to hear the students exclaiming loudly what a wonderful and fun Halloween day they had celebrating at school!
