Earth Day Spirit Week

From April 23rd to 27th, SJA Jeju Elementary School held Earth Day Spirit Week. Elementary school students at SJA Jeju showed their enthusiasm for the environment by participating. There were various colors during the whole week.

In honor of Earth Day, students dressed up to spread awareness about our human impact on the environment. Throughout the week, students wore blue, green, and rainbow colors to represent the water and plants covering our planet. They also had a day to wear animal inspired clothing to spread awareness about endangered species. “It was a joy to see how creative students animal costumes turned out,” noted Nicole McIntyre, Student Council advisor.

One of the biggest highlights was the recycled fashion show that took place at the April 27th assembly. Students wore their recycled outfits earlier that week and were then asked to share their creations on the stage. Teachers were also excited to participate in this event and, like the kids, came up with some great creations. Student Council advisor Elizabeth Eckenrode said, “The students worked so hard to create outfits with recycled materials from home. It was amazing to see it all come together and watch students show their creativity in SJA Jeju’s first fashion show!”
